What If The World Was Run By Women?

I was having drinks with some friends in the New Progressive Coalition who happened to be women and we were discussing how there isn't a cohesive force or voting block of women in the U.S. Kirstin Falk, the director of NPC, pointed out that there are countless disparate groups but nothing holding them together. There are the old schoolers around, like Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, who do represent the womanly population, but you have to ask if they are just too entrenched in the machine to really look out for their fellow females.

Another point made was the financial power that women now hold, creating a new power - if harnessed - in the political system. There are many groups that wield financial might in this arena, however none of them a female-based organization.

Ladies - we are the most organized, effective, sensitive, powerful gender here...why aren't we flexing this muscle to change this country.

Years ago, I saw this really interesting woman speak who talked about how nations take on a gender. For example, military-free, socialist countries like Sweden or Canada reflect a feminine attitude, while aggressive countries like the US reflect a masculine attitude. How true.

I hope that this country can find its inner goddess soon, before the outer thug does any more harm....
