Mark Masinter's Blog Comment

Wanted to post my friend Mark Masinter's blog comment - think it provides even more to think about....

Well done Mo! Think about it. This humanitarian crisis has:*Claimed the lives of more than 400,000 civilians*Displaced as many as 1.8 million Sudanese within the country*Caused an additional 200,000 to flee to refugee camps in neighboring Chad*An estimated 15,000 people will continue to die each month from attacks, disease, starvation and exposeIS THIS THE 21ST CENTURY???????????My thoughts are inspired from Elie Wiesel upon his acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize."I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffereing and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppresor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must-at the moment-become the center of the universe."We must not allow this oppression, injustice and suffering occur any longer!!!!

Thanks Mark!
